Born and raised in Switzerland, I decided in 2001 to permanently leave my career in business and relocate to the Bay Area and start anew. In 2002 I enrolled at SFSU in the Kinesiology Department and began a new adventure and career. Today I work as an Educator and Health and Wellness Coach. Apart from teaching various classes at SF State, being an ACSM Certification Workshops National Presenter, I also volunteer as a parent educator teaching a K-6 health promotion curriculum at a local Elementary school.
I am interested in team and group dynamics, goal orientation and motivational climate, sensation-seeking and risk taking in extreme sport, and exercise behavior.
Ph.D. USC Exercise Science (Sport Psychology)
I am a lecturer specializing in motor learning and skill acquisition, as well the development of students’ written communication and employability skills. Having coached in a range of elite youth and college environments, my teaching is underpinned by a wealth of practical experience and also informed by my research into sports coaching, pedagogy and reflective practice.
